Tameo joins PROMOLAC2030 to map Latin America's impact fund landscape

Summary
Tameo is partnering with AlphaMundi Group, Latimpacto, and GSG Impact to map Latin America's impact fund landscape for a year-end report. Impact fund managers in the region can get involved by us.
Tameo is partnering with AlphaMundi Group, Latimpacto, and the European chapters of GSG Impact on PROMOLAC2030, an initiative to build the evidence base institutional investors need to engage more confidently with Latin America's impact investing market.
Why Latin America, why now
Latin America has long punched above its weight in sustainable finance. AlphaMundi's own impact story began there, with its first transaction in Mexico back in 2009, and the region helped pioneer commercial microfinance more than a decade earlier still. Today it offers a rare combination of relevance to global sustainability goals: the Amazon's role as a carbon sink, reserves of the minerals needed for the energy transition, substantial renewable energy potential, and a young, growing workforce.
At the same time, the region faces real headwinds. Like much of the developing world, Latin America is behind on the financing needed to meet the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, inequality remains entrenched, and it competes with other regions for a shrinking pool of development finance. Mobilising private capital through blended finance and similar mechanisms is increasingly essential, and that requires a stronger, evidence-led narrative for institutional investors.
What PROMOLAC2030 aims to do
In June 2025, AlphaMundi convened more than 60 investors alongside Latimpacto and GSG Impact's European chapters to discuss market trends and opportunities across Latin America. The initiative gained further momentum in July, when AlphaMundi attended the UN's Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4) in Seville at the invitation of UNDP and the Swiss government, building support for public-private partnerships in pursuit of the SDG agenda.
The next step is a dedicated regional report, due for launch by the end of the year. Drawing on audited financials from participating funds, it will map the range of impact strategies active across Latin America, assess their performance, and serve as a practical catalogue of engagement opportunities for institutional donors and investors looking to build exposure to the region.
Tameo's role
As the partner mapping the landscape of impact fund managers in Latin America, Tameo will be reaching out to fund managers active in the region over the coming weeks. This work draws on the same rigorous, data-led approach behind our PAIF Report series, applied here with a regional focus.
Participating managers will gain visibility with the networks Tameo has built through years of PAIF research, alongside the report's sponsors and stakeholders. Findings will be shared through a series of public and private events across Europe and Latin America in 2026 and 2027.
